Meet Dr. Carpenter

Dr. John Carpenter has conducted his dental practice in New Windsor since 1983. Throughout his career, he has emphasized continuing education.  He has travelled extensively to train with world-renowned dental implantologists.  This allows him to treat his patients with the most advanced dentistry available.  Dr. Carpenter has been involved with dental implantology since 1982.  The doctor’s goal is to allow his patients to achieve optimal dental health for a lifetime.

Dr. Carpenter has been awarded Fellowship and Diplomate status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.  He has received the Academy of General Dentistry’s Fellowship and Mastership Awards.  Less than 1% of all dentists achieve these prestigious honors.   Dr. Carpenter has specialized training in sedation dentistry and is a member of DOCS (Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation).

Dr. Carpenter frequently lectures at various continuing education meetings and has published articles on advanced treatment techniques and procedures.  Special interests include dental implants, complex restorations and cosmetic dentistry.  Dr. Carpenter is part of an elite group of cosmetic dentists that perform both the cosmetic and surgical parts of implant dentistry, which comprises less than 5% of implantologists in the United States.

He is a member of multiple dental organizations including International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Academy of Osseointegration, International Association for Orthodontics, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Empire State Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Northeast Gnathologic Society. He is Past President of the Newburgh Dental Society and Education Chairman of the Ninth District Dental Society.  Dr. Carpenter graduated from Boston College with a Bachelors and then a Masters Degree in Chemistry. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University and completed a  residency program at Brookdale Hospital in New York City emphasizing Oral Implantology.

Dr. Carpenter and his wife, Susan, have two sons. He enjoys family time, hiking, gardening and golf.
